It’s quite affordable compared to other options—you’ll be paying under fifteen dollars per dish—but you’re getting generous portions of excellent Vietnamese food, aren’t you. Their signature broken rice dish with bbq pork, shredded pork, and egg loaf is pretty spectacular. As is every other item on the menu. This is the kind of place you can go for a quick takeout lunch or just with a friend.

This little Vietnamese spot does California’s best lunchtime deal: $8 for a Banh Mi with grilled chicken or pork, grilled beef sandwich, and all the fixings. Bear in mind that this is primarily a sandwich shop, so the lunchtime feel is very much functional: cozy Spanish-vibe seating, quick service, and just enough natural light.
But if you’re more likely to take it to go, then it’s worth knowing that you can pick up a box with that crunchy bread and oyster garlic marinade for a couple of dollars more on the weekends.

We like to add a cup of their highly-rated coffee for good measure.
