While Lewisville might not be Dallas’s most famous dining destination, this northern suburb holds its own culinary allure. Beyond the chain restaurants, you’ll find a thriving bar and grill scene where sizzling steaks, craft beers, and smoky barbecue could easily become your weekend ritual. Here, families gather over loaded nachos, friends clink glasses of local IPAs, and the aroma of grilled perfection wafts through cozy patios—these are the spots worth seeking out.
Shoal Creek Tavern
$$ | (972) 317-2250 | WEBSITE

This is one of Lewisville’s best bar and grill spots. Shoal Creek Tavern is a popular destination for a night out, offering a unique dining experience. It’s located in the heart of Lewisville, which we recommend visiting when you’re ready for a memorable meal. Try the risotto paired with a perfectly cooked Wagyu burger, or their tender lamb shank. Also good to know: the daily specials change regularly, and the happy hour deals are worth catching.
Quinlan’s Bar and Grill
$ | (972) 416-7600 | WEBSITE

There was a time when we thought nothing could surpass a classic bar burger. Then we tried the grilled chicken sandwich at Quinlan’s Bar and Grill. Its tender, juicy chicken, piled high with crisp lettuce, ripe tomato, and a smear of garlic aioli, made us realize we were wrong. Located in the heart of Lewisville, this lively spot is famous for its reasonably priced menu and friendly vibe.
Don’t miss their homemade pot roast, with fall-apart tender beef, creamy mashed potatoes, and rich gravy, or the Reuben sandwich stacked with corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, and melted Swiss on rye. Their chalkboard specials, like the hearty chili and chicken enchiladas smothered in cheese and sauce, are particularly delicious, too.
Bonnie & Clyde’s Bar & Grill
$$ | (817) 410-6704 | WEBSITE

Even though Bonnie & Clyde’s Bar & Grill is inside a Hilton Hotel, we kind of have to include it on this guide. That’s because it’s more than just a hotel restaurant. It’s a spot that feels like the heart of Lewisville itself: a little inconsistent in the kitchen, unapologetically warm, and always inviting with its dim lighting. Whether it’s lunch or dinner, you’ll find people ranging from business travelers to local regulars, enjoying a whiskey sour or digging into the salmon.
It’s the perfect place for a relaxed meal at one of the clean, comfortable tables, and with the friendly staff going above and beyond, there’s even help with receipts for reimbursement.
Drunken Donkey Craft Bar & Grill
$ | (972) 221-1900 | WEBSITE

The atmosphere is just as inviting as the food at Drunken Donkey Craft Bar & Grill. The main space features a bustling bar area with high-top seating, along with rustic wood accents, warm lighting, casual table setups, and a clean, open dining room in the back. It’s the type of place that’s lively yet relaxed enough to bring your friends or enjoy a casual night out.
The menu stays consistent, but one thing you can always count on is the crispy and perfectly seasoned fried pickles served with ranch, or the hearty grilled meatloaf with green beans. And if you spot the jalapeno glazed pork chop or the popular Donkey balls on the menu, order them without question.
The Porch Patio Bar & Kitchen
$ | (214) 513-9838 | WEBSITE

We stumbled upon The Porch Patio Bar & Kitchen by following the lively chatter and tempting aromas drifting from its rustic patio. And we’re sure glad we did. They’ve got killer crawfish specials on weekends, scratch-made dishes, and can’t-miss tartar sauce that’s truly the best ever tasted. Grab a seat at the bar and enjoy the unpredictable atmosphere while watching the friendly monkey in a diaper entertain the vibrant crowd.
Sneaky Pete’s
$ | (972) 434-2500 | WEBSITE

If you’re craving a laid-back hangout with a generous pour of cold drinks, head to Sneaky Pete’s. It’s a bar and grill with a ton of scenic waterfront views—we’re talking about feeling like you’re on a boat getaway from the city or lounging by the pool area. The menu leans more standard than inventive, featuring dishes like the praised Club Sandwich that’s better than expected. Don’t leave without trying their beverages made to perfection at reasonable prices.
The space used to be just another spot, but now all you’ll find are clean, friendly vibes enhanced by the waterfront setting. Plus, they’ve got regular events like trivia nights that make for a good place to post up when you want some fun.
BoomerJack’s Grill
$ | (817) 527-6984 | WEBSITE

BoomerJack’s Grill is Lewisville’s go-to sports bar: an electric atmosphere for game days and unbeatable drink specials. Though it’s part of a local chain, this location stands out for its service. They have high-top tables perfect for watching the game and a lively bar area, plus fantastic $5 margaritas. Try the queso with chips, a classic bar snack, or pair it with a cold beer for a casual meal.
One order makes for a satisfying starter, but come back for the night shift when bartenders like Aileen and Megan provide the truly memorable experience.
Pour Choices
$ | (972) 695-6108 | WEBSITE

Pour Choices sets the benchmark for neighborhood bar and grill dining. It strikes that perfect balance of friendly, attentive service with refreshing, laid-back atmosphere. Our go-to is the vegetarian bar food, loaded with fresh ingredients and thoughtful preparation. Their allergy-friendly options, also hitting the spot, showcase quality without compromise.
Pour Choices also happens to serve some of the best (and most interesting) happy hour specials of any bar in Lewisville, including great value on both food and drinks.
Wildwood Southlake
$$ | (817) 748-2100 | WEBSITE

Good craft whiskey should have a smooth finish, rich character, and the ability to make you forget all other spirits. That’s exactly what you’ll find at Wildwood Southlake, a bar and grill that’s known for its excellent dining experience (and we wholeheartedly agree). Come by for dinner so you can taste the Grilled Center Cut Fillet cooked to perfection right off the grill.
While you’re there, try the Dragon Burger and Smoked Chicken Nachos, especially those nachos that are like the best comfort food ever. Take everything to your table, where you can eat and relax in the casual pub-style atmosphere.
Local Pint
$ | (214) 285-3628 | WEBSITE

You should have your last meal in Lewisville at Local Pint. It’s a welcoming, lively bar with rustic wood tables and seasonal brews listed on a chalkboard, and it’s exactly the type of place you’ll be craving once you’re back home and nothing in your fridge looks good. Although it’s tucked away with convenient parking in the back, this bar is always buzzing, with a steady crowd gathering at the entrance.
To make waiting more enjoyable, sip a crisp sour beer while chatting with your soon-to-be fellow patrons, debating whether fried chicken counts as a sandwich (it does). Once you’ve successfully snagged a seat, start with the crispy fried chicken sandwich, followed by the heartiest comfort food you’ll ever taste. Wrap up your visit with their rotating beer selection that includes surprising (but very welcome) sours.
R&J’s Bar and Grill
$ | (817) 424-0200 | WEBSITE

Even if you’ve already had a heavy lunch, you’ll want to save room for an early dinner. A chili dog from R&J’s Bar and Grill is the move. This bustling, cozy spot keeps their menu consistent, but you’ll definitely find Texas staples like steak tacos with charro beans, a savory and satisfying combo, Chicago dogs, or salmon with veggie and rice. Take a bite of the chili dog, and watch the toppings mingle like a flavor symphony before absolutely devouring it. They do other things besides dogs, too.
The most worthy being a whiskey and coke, which is poured over ice so perfectly you’ll want to ask for its mixing secrets.
The Brass Tap
$ | (214) 618-0316 | WEBSITE

If you find yourself in Lewisville with a thirst bigger than a Texas summer, head to The Brass Tap for the neighborhood’s best brews. Their wide selection of beers and drinks is good, but Celeste’s perfectly poured beer takes the prize. Picture a lively atmosphere, especially on warm days when the patio is open, with great food coming out quickly and made perfectly. And yes it’s just as awesome as it sounds.
They also nail it for a quick bite, hanging with friends, or just winding down after work. Enjoy everything at the bar where Celeste makes sure guests are well taken care of, or try and snag one of the patio seats outside the restaurant.
Lambeau’s America
$$ | (972) 317-9993 | WEBSITE

There are plenty of bar and grills around Lewisville, but when nothing but a fantastic dining experience with live music will do, Lambeau’s America is your best bet. It’s one of the rare casual spots where you’ll want to go for happy hour since the drink specials are so generous and satisfying. One standout is the delicious salmon, alongside the buffalo ranch chicken with creamy mac and cheese, and an appetizer of crispy shrimp and calamari.
Like other Great Bar & Grill Restaurants, the atmosphere is laid-back and pleasant, and the waitstaff has a knack for providing excellent recommendations right when you need them. Their beer list has an impressive selection on tap—the last time we were there, we tried the all-you-can-drink mimosas during brunch that surprisingly paired perfectly with every dish (yes, even that buffalo ranch chicken).
The Brass Tap – Highland Village
$ | (972) 317-3227 | WEBSITE

If any bar and grill could make you feel like you’re living in a laid-back Texas daydream, it’d be The Brass Tap. Especially when you’re hanging out on the patio, beneath string lights and wooden tables in a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere, sipping from their wide selection of beers with a knowledgeable bartender who might just join in on the fun.
Everyone around you will likely order the blackened cod tacos, a popular menu item that hits just right, but the star of the show is their phenomenal service, featuring friendly and attentive staff who know their brews inside and out. Don’t leave without trying the good appetizers, though the lemon pepper wings could use a bit more flavor and seasoning to truly shine.
Maacs Grill
$ | (214) 496-9464 | WEBSITE

You may finish your shift at work and walk into Maacs Grill wondering “Where’s the game?” Or more importantly, “When’s last call?” You’ll be here for a good time, not only because their drink specials read like a bargain, but because they serve bar food so satisfying, you simply won’t want to head home. It’s one of the best places to try some of Lewisville’s greatest hits, like crispy catfish, juicy wings, and strong Long Island iced teas.
On Saturdays, though, their $4 crown shots with their smooth finish are a must-try. And save room for whatever the chicken deluxe is, especially if it’s the perfectly crispy and flavorful plate.
