Hi there. My name’s Heidi and I’m a Staff Writer here at The Infatuation. I love restaurants—especially when they don’t make me climb pointless steps for a damn good burger. So, let’s talk about the 13 best fast food spots in Traverse City that actually get it right in 2026.
Pizza Hut
$ | (231) 947-2022 | WEBSITE

How to describe our beloved Pizza Hut? Well, it’s basically a trip to the nostalgic version of family dinners that lives inside your head, with plenty of pan pizza and zero fuss. If that sounds comforting, it’s because it is. A proper cozy spot of a space, this quiet restaurant has wheelchair accessibility and is accessed right from the parking lot.
They serve some very decent pizzas and even have an all-you-can-eat salad bar for $8.99, involving fresh greens and a seriously tasty original pan crust. Be sure to head for an early evening meal at their comfortable tables.
McDonald’s
$ | (231) 946-6100 | WEBSITE

We’re not entirely sure whether we’re more into McDonald’s consistently hot fries or their reliable, uncomplicated menu. Either way, this fast-food spot in Traverse City feels sort of like a clean, dependable haven designed by some deity of convenience, and it’s perfect for anyone who can’t decide whether they’re in the mood for a quick family meal or just grabbing something on the go.
Thanks to their mobile app, you can access free food and place orders easily, all rounded off with friendly service from staff like Eric. Open from morning to night, it’ll work just as well for a lunchtime bite as a post-playland snack for the kids, you can count on the atmosphere staying family-friendly.
Burger King
$ | (231) 932-7987 | WEBSITE

Burger King has the kind of clean environment that will make you feel like an absolute winner. Or at the very least, like you’re getting a proper fast-food experience or something. In Traverse City, you can enjoy consistently fresh food whilst tucking into some hot fries, a satisfying Whopper, or their signature flame-grilled burgers.
It’s also a great spot for a quick meal or two, and whatever you’re ordering you definitely want to get involved in the friendly service from staff like Brenda and Amber.
Dairy Queen (Treat)
$ | (231) 938-0441 | WEBSITE

Blizzard enthusiasts, we have a destination. This fast-food spot in Traverse City is home to frozen treats that will make you feel all cool and refreshed, and also like you’re ready to have a post-snack stroll along a breezy lakeshore. As well as a brownie batter blizzard that’s packed with flavor, you’ll also find things like turtle pecan cluster blizzards, Royal New York cheesecake blizzards, and a selection of hot dogs on their menu.
But whatever you have for your main just be sure to leave enough room for some extra strawberries in your milkshake.
Dairy Lodge
$ | (231) 943-1069 | WEBSITE

You’ve probably heard of Dairy Lodge. In fact, we’re pretty sure that even the aliens are out there right now, contemplating a trip to Earth to try out Dairy Lodge’s exceptional ice cream. This local favorite serves every frozen treat you could imagine, and knows how to make proper ice cream. But whether you go for the popular vegan dole whip or some oat milk dole whip, be sure to get the ice cream. We repeat, get the ice cream. It’s excellent.
Their charming old-fashioned spot is their only location, but the only thing to add is that I once visited whilst needing cash and there were some parking limitations – sigh – so it might be worth bringing exact change.
Arby’s
$ | (231) 929-1662 | WEBSITE

You don’t have to be a food critic to know that this place serves roast beef, but what the sign won’t tell you is that this is one of the most reliable fast-food joints in town. Open with solid service, they specialize in good food, especially when you use their online deals. You can pair your sandwich with everything from curly fries to a classic milkshake. Located in a cramped spot, they’ve got a straightforward drive-thru.
FYI, there can be a long wait when the line backs up, but you can also order inside, though it’s tight. Just be aware that worker retention issues sometimes lead to early closures, and occasionally, they might forget an extra sauce or side, which can be a bit frustrating.
Petoskey Pretzel Co.
$ | (231) 252-2414 | WEBSITE

Here’s a fun story. Last weekend I was craving something salty and chewy after a long walk along the waterfront, and I stumbled upon Petoskey Pretzel Co. A fast food spot that looks like a cozy snack shack designed by a pretzel enthusiast, a visit here is very lakeside relaxation meets soft dough perfection. On top of all the calm atmosphere indoors, they also have a nice view of the water that’s perfect for casual dining.
The pretzels are large and delicious, with dips like garlic and atomic mustard adding a tasty kick, and the pretzel frankfurters are a hit with their nondairy dough and perfect ratio. Service can be mixed—some staff are friendly, others less enthusiastic—but overall, it’s a nice experience with tasty food.
QDOBA Mexican Eats
$ | (231) 421-8475 | WEBSITE

We don’t usually call fast food ‘brilliant’ unless we’re talking about the person who invented the drive-thru, but we’ll make an exception for the burritos at QDOBA. This totally accessible Mexican spot in Traverse City runs like a well-oiled machine, and although the menu stays consistent, they always serve classic combos with a touch of personal care.
Think big, well-made burritos wrapped with attention by the friendly staff, and flavorful chicken and beef combinations recommended by the helpful young gentleman at the counter. Although this isn’t somewhere you want to be for a fancy night out, it’s perfect for a reliable lunch or dinner where you get great service and food worth the price, especially with the specials now available. And go on, enjoy the friendly atmosphere where staff joke and make you feel comfortable, why the hell not.
Chick-fil-A
$ | (231) 493-8881 | WEBSITE

Chick-fil-A is a glorious, raging perfectionist in fast-food form. And we mean that in the best possible way. This is the kind of restaurant that’ll leave you mumbling ‘exceptional’ after every single bite of food. Seriously, just try to eat their classic chicken sandwich without getting all lyrical over some perfectly seasoned waffle fries.
Open from morning to night, you can expect Traverse City’s best salads in their slightly more casual dining area, and full-blown family-friendly service throughout. Not only do they have very attentive staff, but just like the rest of their restaurant, the clean atmosphere is decked out in style.
Firehouse Subs
$ | (231) 421-8236 | WEBSITE

Fast food and flavor is one of our favourite combinations. Partly because we’re really into alliteration, but mostly because places like Firehouse Subs prove that it’s perfectly possible to have a satisfying meal on the go. This popular sandwich spot in Traverse City serves a whole lot of subs, including the Engineer and the Turkey Bacon Ranch, but it’s the freshness that really sells it.
Most of their seating is at standard height, but there is some counter seating, so it’s worth popping in during off-peak hours rather than relying on their busiest times.
BC Pizza of Traverse City
$ | (231) 995-9900 | WEBSITE

If you’re after delicious pizza and a friendly vibe, you’ll love BC Pizza. One of Traverse City’s top fast food spots, it’s welcoming and has that grab-a-quick-bite feel without you having to empty your wallet just to cover a personal pizza. We’d recommend everything from the large pepperoni to the cinnamon crisp, but really you’re here for the ‘Margarita Pizza’.
A whole pie will set you back around $18 but you’ll get generous toppings and that perfect sauce, so really, you’re getting a meal and a treat. The wings are a hit too, and don’t skip the in-house ranch dressing—it’s the perfect addition. The staff is consistently friendly, the dining area is spotless, and the atmosphere is warm. For lunch, the all-you-can-eat salad bar is worth the price, loaded with eggs, real ham, pepperoni, and plenty of veggies.
Whether it’s the mac and cheese pizza or the party pleaser option, everything’s fresh and enjoyable. Trust me, that cinnamon crisp is so good, you’ll be back for more.
Jimmy John’s
$ | (231) 935-9355 | WEBSITE

Jimmy John’s is a popular, reliable – yes, we said reliable – sandwich shop known for its fast and clean environment. But amidst the quick service, friendly staff, quality subs, and efficient counter setup, is a consistently fresh menu and a straightforward ordering process with bright lighting and simple seating, no less. The food here is your classic sub fare, ranging from the toasted sandwich to the Ultimate Italian.
And although none of it will change your life, this place is perfect for a quick lunch or a satisfying meal on the go.
Wendy’s
$ | (231) 941-8182 | WEBSITE

There are a lot of things on the menu at Wendy’s, but go ahead and ignore everything that doesn’t involve the word ‘frosty’. It’s hard to believe that the frosties served here are technically the same species of dessert you’ll find at other fast food spots. They’re all creamy and satisfying and packed full of flavors like chocolate and orange.
Inside the cozy dining room, the space itself is equally as easy on the eye – hello, fake fireplace – and you’ll find the outdoor picnic tables out front, via the main entrance.
