Drive through Coral Springs and you’ll spot plenty of takeout containers making their way out of shopping centers or groups gathering for celebrations. All roads lead to Izumo Japanese Restaurant. The authentic Japanese spot does fried rice right. It has a wonderful texture—never too greasy or dry. And you can taste the freshness of the ingredients, separate from the skillful preparation.
Like any great special occasion destination, this is a place to settle into the wonderful atmosphere and chat about how the meal exceeded expectations or discuss dietary preferences with the attentive servers.
Tobu Thai & Sushi

If your idea of a perfect meal includes “fresh sushi made with love,” you’ll adore Tobu Thai & Sushi. The red curry (our personal favorite) at this cozy mom and pop shop is fantastic, and if you pair it with pretty much anything else here, you won’t be disappointed. From savory dishes like lo mein to specialty rolls made by the attentive sushi chef, it’s hard to go wrong.
Sakura Sushi Japanese Restaurant

Sakura Sushi serves up an amazing sushi experience in a space with private booths and closing doors—in other words, it’s a quality-time spot disguised as a restaurant. They offer some of the most traditional sushi choices in the area, including a few specialty rolls on the boat. This place is also intimate enough for your entire group to fit in without feeling crowded, and there’s attentive waitresses for when the service gets a bit slow just isn’t enough.
Moon Thai & Japanese
$$ | (954) 752-4899 | WEBSITE

Moon Thai & Japanese is practically built for relaxed dinners with family or friends. There’s cozy booth seating if you want to keep things extra comfortable, traditional favorites like Pad Thai and Green Curry great for sharing, and plenty of Thai and Japanese dishes to explore. The warm dining room with subtle hints of Thai culture at this Asian fusion restaurant is a reliable place to bust out your best conversation skills over Moon Special Seafood Soup and Sea of Love sushi.
At dinner, the menu is just as inviting and the atmosphere is still welcoming, but know that Moon Thai & Japanese is really at its best when you’re looking for consistently excellent food and attentive service.

Sarku Japan
$ | (954) 345-6518 | WEBSITE

We appreciate a restaurant that knows how to keep things simple yet satisfying. At Sarku Japan, they’re serving Japanese favorites alongside fresh sushi rolls. There are plenty of dishes to choose from, but we like the chicken teriyaki bento and the dairy-free option with shrimp. They also do bento entrees with chicken for around $15, because, of course. Aside from the flavorful chicken, the fresh-to-order sushi alone makes coming to Sarku Japan worth it.
Spikey Ty

A compact, spotless dining room, exceptional sushi rolls (plus Thai curries that are the best around), and generous portions that satisfy make Spikey Ty a top choice for your next lunch or dinner when ordinary takeout won’t do. We love their fresh, oversized rolls with ample soy sauce and wasabi, and the Masaman and Red curry.
FUJIMURA BUFFET & SUSHI
$$ | (954) 688-9298 | WEBSITE

We head to this Japanese buffet for lunch and choose from the wide variety of dishes on offer: sushi rolls, peel and eat shrimp, hot and sour soup, fried rice, stir fry noodles, and various hot foods like steak and fried chicken, and each selection is prepared with fresh ingredients and careful attention. Unless you opt for the extensive buffet spread that serves a crowd, the individual plates are reasonably portioned and priced around $15-20 for lunch.
There are also several ways to experience Fujimura’s offerings—inside their clean, Japanese-themed dining room with pleasant vibes, or for takeout (you can also grab dessert like fruit or ice cream to enjoy later).
