Every restaurant in Prescott Valley falls into one of two categories. The first is a chain with predictable menus and generic decor, reliably available in every strip mall. The second category is what we’re here to discuss today: the destination restaurant. These are the places we venture out for, the ones that may create intimacy issues between you and your regular old takeout spot.
Yellow Leaf Coffee
$ | (928) 759-8804 | WEBSITE

Prescott Valley’s best morning pick-me-up comes in the form of the vanilla freeze, aka the ultimate cold coffee drink at Yellow Leaf Coffee. Mornings are quite the scene at this charming drive-thru, when locals and RV travelers line up for this glorious frozen blend of rich coffee, creamy vanilla, and—crucially—the option to swap in almond milk for those with dietary needs. It’s a sweet and refreshing treat that’ll energize you for the day ahead when a regular iced coffee just won’t cut it.
Olivas’ Mexican Food
$ | (928) 772-6070 | WEBSITE

Why must we settle for the same old tacos and burritos when we could have a chicken fundido burrito that tastes like it’s been perfected over decades? That’s exactly what they serve at this Mexican spot in Prescott Valley. Olivas’ excellent chicken fundido joins melted cheese and tender chicken in a warm tortilla—which we prefer. The large menu is the perfect canvas for the combination of flavorful meat and cheese that blend together, forming one delicious bite.
It’s the kind of teamwork that local families haven’t seen since the restaurant first opened over 20 years ago. The friendly staff works together seamlessly, creating that small-town atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. While the space can be quite dark with a slight odor upon entering, the reasonable prices and consistently good service keep people coming back. Even on Taco Tuesday and Enchilada Wednesday when special deals abound, the food arrives quickly and the quality remains excellent.
Just be warned—some dishes pack more spice than you might expect, but that’s part of the authentic experience at this kid-friendly establishment that’s been serving the community for generations.
Mediterranean Don Omar
$$ | WEBSITE

Mediterranean Don Omar in Prescott Valley redefines what a local Mediterranean spot can be. They’ve got your traditional falafels and hummus, but they also serve exceptionally tender lamb and beef kabobs that are generously portioned. The meat comes perfectly charred alongside fluffy rice, grilled vegetables, and a tangy yogurt sauce. And—because this is a remarkably satisfying meal—it also includes warm pita bread and a side of their creamy, well-balanced hummus.
The simple but clean atmosphere makes for a comfortable dining experience, with reasonable prices that offer great value for the quality. The owner’s hospitality and the restaurant’s Jordanian influence shine through in every well-executed dish.
Little Caesars Pizza
$ | (928) 772-7372 | WEBSITE

Have you been disappointed by soggy crusts, skimpy toppings, and lukewarm pizza on a quick lunch run? That will never happen at Little Caesars Pizza, a straightforward spot in Prescott Valley where people stop by for Hot and Ready pizzas, pepperoni, and cheese pies. Your first move should be the Detroit-style deep dish with pepperoni.
The crispy-edged crust, extra cheese, and crazy crust on the edges with jalapeno cheddar sauce on the side will erase any frustration from a mediocre fast-food pizza. This pizza is a welcome reminder that crunch, spice, and value don’t have to be sacrificed for convenience.
Riliberto’s Fresh Mexican Food
$ | (928) 775-9493 | WEBSITE

As late-night eaters know too well, a good burrito is hard to find. Surprisingly, one of the best we’ve had is at this 24-hour Mexican spot in Prescott Valley. Their breakfast burrito comes enormous and flavorful with more layers than a well-wrapped present, and it’s filled with scrambled eggs, cheese, and an optional chorizo crumble. Get the chorizo. It’s a combination we don’t see often, and it adds a nice kick to the whole thing. You can also add extra salsa for $1 to balance out the richness.
Carl’s Jr.
$ | (928) 778-7366 | WEBSITE

Carl’s Jr. generally excels in the burger department thanks to their signature patties. With a flavor that lands somewhere between the richness of a classic American burger and the satisfying heft of a premium fast-food offering, the beef holds together fresh toppings in a way only a pro could. Our favorite iteration is the Meatless Famous Star with melty American cheese, housemade vegetarian patty that’s strong with savory seasoning, crisp lettuce, and special sauce.
It’s worth going out of your way to try, whether that’s to Carl’s Jr.’s convenient location next to other fast-food establishments or to experience the warm and comfortable ambiance with music volume that’s just right.
Subway
$ | (928) 772-4724 | WEBSITE

The Italian B.M.T. from Subway might be the most satisfying sandwich on this menu. The combination of fresh salami, pepperoni, and ham with crisp veggies and melted cheese creates a hearty, flavorful bite that will deplete your hunger quickly. That doesn’t mean you should rush. The freshly baked Italian bread on this sandwich ultimately holds up.
Our recommendation is to grab this sandwich early, since Subway is perpetually busy during lunch hours, and enjoy it at one of their clean tables while watching the friendly staff help other customers with their orders.
Dairy Queen Grill & Chill
$ | (928) 772-6517 | WEBSITE

At Dairy Queen Grill & Chill, the main attraction is the hot fudge sundae. It’s piled high and drizzled generously, so that the soft-serve, fudge, whipped cream, and crunchy peanuts meld into a single rich and wonderfully indulgent treat. If you aren’t into peanuts, you can also get it with sprinkles, caramel, or chocolate chips.
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store
$ | (928) 772-0447 | WEBSITE

Cracker Barrel’s Southern fried chicken (available all day) is a complete meal. Substantial pieces of crispy chicken—with the skin crackling like the geological cross-section of a golden canyon—sit alongside fluffy buttermilk biscuits made fresh hourly. Pull those pieces apart and the juicy meat inside steams out indecently. A side of creamy gravy provides just enough richness. It’s so satisfying you don’t need the optional mashed potatoes.
Five Guys
$ | (928) 515-2287 | WEBSITE

If you haven’t yet experienced the magic of perfectly cooked burgers with crispy fries, head to Five Guys in Prescott Valley. This standout location delivers juicy burgers with efficiently prepared meat, though occasionally it can be slightly overcooked. The famous fries are always hot and crispy—a key element that contrasts wonderfully with the soft buns and fresh toppings.
While some previous spots felt greasy, this friendly place gets it right with helpful staff who make it worth the extra bucks. A bit more manager supervision would make it even better.
Taqueria Guadalajara
$ | (928) 775-4805 | WEBSITE

An evening spent with the lengua tacos at Taqueria Guadalajara will leave you with one overwhelming question: Why don’t more tacos have this tender beef tongue on them? Of course, the standout dish here is not all about the lengua—it’s also got a pile of crispy shredded beef, and a fish taco special, all served with ridiculously good refried beans. It’s savory, satisfying, and just a little bit spicy, and best eaten at the counter with a friend on a quiet Thursday night in Prescott Valley.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe
$ | (928) 277-0215 | WEBSITE

The Island Green smoothie at this Prescott Valley cafe is not to be overlooked. Like many great drinks, this vibrant blend is a masterful balance of flavors: fresh spinach and kale blended seamlessly with mango, pineapple, and banana; a subtle hint of ginger that adds just the right kick; and the perfect icy consistency that makes each sip refreshing.
Say yes to the optional protein boost, and if you can’t finish it immediately, don’t worry—it’ll hold up beautifully in the fridge for an afternoon pick-me-up.
It’s Just Wings
$ | (469) 694-5573 | WEBSITE

It’s Just Wings in Prescott Valley does impressive things with chicken wings. They’ve got your classic Buffalo or BBQ, but there’s also a Nashville Hot version, a Santa Fe style, and our personal favorite, the Apple BBQ. It has that perfect sweet-tangy balance, all on wings that are generously sized and cooked just right. The 32-piece order is definitely the way to go.
Encanto Italian Grill
$ | (928) 775-5500 | WEBSITE

Italian restaurants often disappoint with soggy crusts and bland sauces that drown out the flavors. So it’s all the more impressive that Encanto Italian Grill in Prescott Valley crafts the perfect White Pizza using nothing but the sheer power of quality ingredients. The thin crust is particularly terrific, about the same crispness as the toppings themselves, meaning you’ll taste every element of the pizza.
Vegetarian options normally shouldn’t be this satisfying, but in this case, the White Pizza makes the meal hold up beautifully against the delicious array of chicken scallopini and Mediterranean salad.
Crumbl – Prescott
$$ | (928) 237-2248 | WEBSITE

Crumbl – Prescott is a cookie shop that feels like it should have a bottomless option for the dessert crowd that visits on weekends. But we’re here to talk about great cookies, and that’s exactly how we’d classify their lemon poppyseed. Add the strawberry shortcake and you’ve essentially created a cookie sampler, except with fruit instead of chocolate. It’s topped with creamy cheesecake frosting and crumbly streusel, on a soft buttery base.
Plus Coffee
$ | (928) 420-8133 | WEBSITE

Now is a good time to revise the statement that a great coffee shop requires fancy decor, since Plus Coffee’s welcoming atmosphere comes from its thoughtful design inside Park Collective. The space keeps all the elements perfectly balanced, so that every visit includes the same consistent comfort and quality.
From the first sip to the last, you’ll taste exceptional cappuccinos with plant-based milk options, sweet baristas who remember your order, pastries that taste freshly baked rather than store-bought, and occasional gluten-free snacks, all served in a kid-friendly environment with an indoor playground. Enjoy it at their Prescott Valley location or take your coffee to the nearby park for some relaxation.
Sally B’s Cafe
$ | (928) 772-2053 | WEBSITE

Even though this cozy cafe right in Prescott Valley serves an all-around satisfying breakfast menu all day, we always get the same thing. Their signature Awesome omelet green chili chicken is loaded generously with tender chicken and creamy avocado, topped with a zesty green chili sauce that kind of acts like a flavor booster. It’s delicious without anything added, but you should pair it with their blueberry grilled muffins for sweetness, too.
