In Southern California, there are towns with good dining and towns with decent dining—and then there’s San Jacinto. This desert gem isn’t just a stop along the way; it’s a destination where family-run taquerias share the block with innovative farm-to-table kitchens. If you know where to look, you’ll discover your new favorite hole-in-the-wall and a tasting-menu standout in the same afternoon.
The Habit Burger Grill
$ | (951) 474-5335 | WEBSITE

From the outside, The Habit Burger Grill looks like your typical burger joint. And from the inside, it also appears this way. That’s because The Habit—which is about the size of a modest dining hall—is actually focused on burgers. At the counter, you can order the Santa Barbara Char Burger, the $5 char double cheeseburger, and veggie options like the Impossible burger, but you should probably make a meal of it and add some fries or a salad.
A char double cheeseburger combo costs about $9 and even comes with a drink on the side.
Denny’s
$ | (951) 487-9237 | WEBSITE

Families in San Jacinto know that Denny’s offers some of the best breakfast options in the area, and the Berry Stuffed French Toast with fluffy pancakes is pretty much perfect. Don’t make the mistake of visiting this spot without appreciating the service though—there’s a reason the staff gets such positive mentions. The waitstaff is friendly and polite, creating a welcoming environment even when the restaurant is busy. The attentive service is one of our favorite aspects of dining here.
There are plenty of vegetarian options available.
Fairway Café at Soboba Casino
$$ | (866) 476-2622 | WEBSITE

The Fairway Café at Soboba Casino is pretty good, but the golf course view is where this dining experience achieves true greatness. It overlooks the fairways, and the atmosphere is surprisingly quiet—expect comfortable seating and people enjoying generous portions. We love the Huevos Rancheros and chicken fettuccine Alfredo, but the chicken fettuccine Alfredo, which includes perfectly balanced sauce that isn’t runny or too thick, is the one you must not skip.
Burger King
$ | (951) 487-9657 | WEBSITE

For a quick weeknight dinner, you can swing by Burger King and be in and out in under 20 minutes. This spot has plenty of seating inside, a clean environment even when busy, and quick, friendly service. Order at least one chicken sandwich with added tomatoes and cheese per person and a side of onion rings for the table before grabbing a drink. We especially appreciate the variety at the drink station, including the unsweetened tea.
Taqueria Azteca
$ | (951) 654-8000 | WEBSITE

This is not only the best taqueria in San Jacinto, it’s also one of the best in the entire region. The shredded chicken tacos here are flavorful and tender in a way that will change your mind about tacos if you’ve only had bland, underwhelming versions elsewhere. They also have a full menu of gorditas, taquitos, and burritos, and all of them are very good. We especially love the carne asada burrito for lunches when we need our midday meal to really pull its weight.
Soboba Pub & Grill
$$ | (866) 476-2622 | WEBSITE

We adore the warm embrace that is Soboba Pub & Grill, a restaurant that offers—you guessed it—steaks and creme brûlée. The atmosphere is filled with the gentle melodies of a live piano bar, inviting you to savor every perfect cut and decadent dessert. Everything we’ve tried here is a treat, but the filet mignon is a standout star. This tender, aged masterpiece is richly flavored, accompanied by excellent sides like mushrooms, and served with thoughtful touches for special occasions.
The service, with staff like Patrice and David going above and beyond, makes each visit memorable, even if the lighting is a bit bright for a steakhouse.
LOS MAREADOS SEAFOOD AND ENTERTAINMENT
$$ | (951) 654-8558 | WEBSITE

Step into the lively dining room at Los Mareados Seafood and Entertainment, where you’ll find spacious tables perfect for groups and a stage for live bands that you can enjoy up close. They have affordable set options for family meals, but some of the regular menu items—like the carne asada burritos and oysters—should not be missed. When you need somewhere to celebrate a birthday or just enjoy a fun night out with friends, Los Mareados is a great choice.
We love a versatile restaurant, and it’s also a solid pick for a casual weeknight dinner with the kids.
Juan’s Rotisserie Chicken
$ | (951) 487-2469 | WEBSITE

There’s no shortage of places to get rotisserie chicken in San Jacinto, but Juan’s Rotisserie Chicken, which sits right in the heart of town, wins in terms of value, food, and experience. At this cozy, family-friendly spot, you’ll pay around $25 for the family pack, and this includes a generous portion of chicken, beans, and potato salad.
This place is packed with a mostly local crowd every evening, and while you can’t make reservations, you can call ahead—do this at least an hour before you plan to actually eat.
Taqueria Los Abarcas
$ | (951) 590-5233 | WEBSITE

On weekends, the line at Taqueria Los Abarcas can seem intimidating, but it moves fast, bringing you quickly closer to your objective. You’re here for a big plate of quesabirria, at least a full order, which you’re bringing to a gathering so everyone can admire your impeccable taste in Mexican food. The consome is extra rich, and Los Abarcas goes a little harder on the crispy shells than some other taquerias. The rolled tacos and chicken burrito in green sauce here are also worthwhile.
Starbucks
$ | (951) 492-1431 | WEBSITE

It’s never hard to find a seat at Starbucks, and there’s no better place for coffee in this part of San Jacinto. This coffee shop is best experienced solo or with a friend so you can relax a bit, and the lobby is cozy and spacious to accommodate a lot of lounging.
The egg white breakfast items and lemon loaves are both excellent examples of the form, and we recommend building your order around a custom drink with the night shift barista’s amazing recommendations and a lot of DIY options to adjust the sweetness level. It’s served in a clean, well-stocked environment, enhanced by nice music in the background.
Rosa’s Juice Bar
$ | (951) 487-2767 | WEBSITE

There are plenty of juice spots around San Jacinto, but Rosa’s Juice Bar makes the freshest smoothies, hands down. The place is dominated by a massive blender station up front, like a laboratory just for drinks. A perfect order here consists of a cantaloupe juice, a caramel frappuccino, and a custom smoothie, with their famous nachos for good measure. Stock up on their large smoothie packs that you can freeze and blend on demand for healthy snacking emergencies.
Orozco’s Restaurant
$ | (951) 487-1595 | WEBSITE

Depending on the day of the week, people go to Orozco’s Restaurant for one of two things: affordable family meals, or their famous fish tacos. On Wednesdays and Sundays, this comfortable spot is filled with families sharing plates and catching up over bomb fish tacos, caldo de res, and carne asada tortas. On other days, they come here for a kid-friendly dinner built around good portions for the price, friendly service with smiles, and the atmosphere that makes everyone feel welcome.
Delgado’s Restaurant
$ | (951) 487-8343 | WEBSITE

Delgado’s Restaurant is a sit-down spot that serves a variety of authentic Mexican dishes, all of which are under $15. Served with warm tortilla chips and homemade salsa and featuring things like chile verde omelette, shrimp fajitas, and menudo, the plates are great for a hearty, satisfying lunch or dinner. A selection of micheladas and homemade red sauce complement the meals perfectly.
Baskin-Robbins
$ | (951) 654-0011 | WEBSITE

Most ice cream shops stick to the basics: a few classic flavors and simple cones. But at Baskin-Robbins, a bustling spot that shares space with Dunkin’ Donuts, there are dozens of options—from timeless favorites to creative seasonal specials. The hardworking staff handle the busy crowd with smiling efficiency, especially when helping excited kids make their selections.
The combination of speedy service and delicious ice cream makes it a popular choice for a sweet treat, even during the busiest hours. Weekend visits, with the whole family in tow, are worth planning your afternoon around.
Emilio’s Restaurant
$ | (951) 925-3721 | WEBSITE

Outside Emilio’s Restaurant, there’s a warm glow from the windows hinting at the decades of family meals served within. Inside the restaurant, there’s a simple solution to finding great Mexican food: the crispy shredded beef n cheese burrito, a highlight of the menu, arrives perfectly golden and steaming hot. The large dining space is thoughtfully partitioned to reduce sound, creating a pleasant atmosphere where the friendly staff delivers chips and salsa with genuine care.
On nights with live music, the warm ambiance makes you feel part of a beloved local tradition that’s been welcoming guests for over 40 years.
J&J’s Diner
$ | (951) 487-2022 | WEBSITE

If the chain breakfast spots around San Jacinto are feeling too corporate and impersonal, try J&J’s Diner instead. This place also has great comfort food and a homey dining area that’s ideal for families and regulars. The chorizo omelette and fresh salads are our picks from the breakfast side of the menu, but the generous portions are why we keep coming back.
You’ll see friendly staff and a clean establishment from the moment you walk in, and it’s important that you experience these things at some point throughout your visit.
