Tillamook restaurants fall into distinct categories. There’s your classic coastal diner, serving chowder so rich it sticks to your ribs, by cooks who’ve perfected the recipe over decades. We also have spots that obsessively source local cheeses, grill oysters over applewood, and discuss terroir. And yes, there are indulgent comfort-food plates that are basically edible hugs. So we’ve sorted this guide to help you find exactly what you crave.
SaraSotas
$ | (503) 842-0600 | WEBSITE

SaraSotas makes for a perfect celebration bakery, provided you plan ahead and you thoroughly appreciate stunning edible art. Wait times for their custom cakes and popular cake pops can hit a week for a special occasion. But if you’re organized, the Tillamook bakery creates beautiful treats with flavors like orange cake, chocolate peanut butter, and that incredible beach-themed cake.
This isn’t so much a destination for quick snacks as it is a destination for people who love milestone moments and exceptional service. Follow their reputation to stay up to date with their latest creations.
East on West
$ | (971) 977-0176 | WEBSITE

Craving a burger that actually tastes like a burger? Maybe it’s just us. But if you’re ever in need of a little satisfaction, East on West in Tillamook is the best place to go. This popular spot feels alive with burger energy. And also fries. Their limited patties ensure fresh taste, especially if you arrive early. It’s a lovely spot to grab a meal on the go while you attempt to absorb flavor through every bite.
Plus, the friendly staff and quick service mean you won’t get distracted from your food.
Sassy Express Thai Food Tillamook
$ | (503) 354-5474 | WEBSITE

Sassy Express Thai Food in Tillamook serves authentic Thai cuisine—but if you’re not in the mood for a full meal, it’s also a reliable place to grab a quick lunch, a bowl of Tom Kha soup, and catch up on some reading. There are a few tables near the window and a couple of booths along the wall. Thankfully, we’ve never found this place too packed to snag a cozy corner to enjoy their flavorful dishes.
Except during the dinner rush on Fridays and Saturdays, when they draw a steady crowd for their incredible chicken pad Thai.
Las Margaritas
$ | (503) 354-5032 | WEBSITE

Las Margaritas serves very good Mexican food in a colorful converted home. You can make a hearty meal out of the pork carnitas and homemade tamales on the menu, but this is mostly a margarita spot. The traditional blended margarita is a great choice, but they also mix a cadillac margarita and pour a homemade salsa that’ll please a spice lover. They have a rear section for events and special occasions for larger gatherings. Look there before you settle for a regular table in the main dining area.
de Garde Brewing
$$ | (503) 815-1635 | WEBSITE

de Garde Brewing is a brewery and a quiet little temple of fermentation, with sour ales that are just as impressive as the aging process happening in the back. The spacious patio and dialed-in tasting flights make this an ideal spot for having intense conversations with friends. They’re using spontaneous fermentation techniques, and they’re very serious about their fruited sours. They time each batch like a master brewer on a race track.
Recess
$ | (503) 812-0308 | WEBSITE

While Recess doesn’t have the best burgers in Tillamook (their claim to fame is frychos), the outdoor sitting area feels like a cozy beachside retreat, and the crispy tater tots deserve a second order. You can sit inside at one of many simple wooden tables and enjoy a pork wrap while you watch the game. Or relax outside in that chill ambiance—where there’s a surprising amount of sunshine—and wait for your next bite of overwhelming goodness to arrive.
Lindsey’s Lattes
$ | (503) 812-7665 | WEBSITE

Lindsey’s Lattes serves the kind of mocha you hear people describe as tasting like ‘chocolate and caramel.’ Thankfully, you don’t have to pretend to taste all that to appreciate this is objectively excellent coffee. They focus on the classics: Tilla-mocha, white cluster latte, americano. But there’s usually a seasonal beverage that’ll make you go ‘ooh’ at the kiosk. Lindsey’s Lattes is also a great place to have a full breakfast.
They have burritos, sandwiches, bagels, and biscuits and gravy from their surprisingly large menu.
Werner Beef & Brew
$ | (503) 842-7114 | WEBSITE

The burgers at this Tillamook brewpub skew classic, like the bacon cheeseburger and tri-tip French dip. But unlike a diner in a hurry, you shouldn’t just grab your sandwich, hop in your truck, and leave. You should sit and savor it, which is why it’s served with a generous portion of fresh-cut fries. They also have some standout beer specials, like the crisp Back Road Blonde and something with a margarita twist that we haven’t been fortunate enough to try yet.
If you’re hungry, this is the brewpub to prioritize, because they also happen to be one of the very best spots for casual dining in Tillamook.
Kitty’s Food and Spirits
$ | (503) 354-2463 | WEBSITE

Kitty’s Food and Spirits is a beachside gem on the Oregon coast just off the main drag. And while the kitchen closes early at 8:00 (just plan to arrive before then), the food is excellent—everything from classic fish and chips to a nutty burger with peanut butter and dill pickles that surprisingly works. You’re coming here primarily to enjoy hearty meals and relax, but there’s also a bar in the back and plenty of parking in the rear lot.
The decor is pretty cool with vintage glasses, tablecloths, and interesting artwork at every table, creating that fun beachside vibe.
Garcia’s Cocina
$ | (971) 389-6510 | WEBSITE

Garcia’s Cocina is a regular feature on Tillamook food crawls, where visitors in rain jackets stop for quesabirria tacos after cheese factory tours. Not only does Garcia’s serve standout birria ramen, but it offers excellent vegan burritos. That’s why you’ll still spot locals sharing agua fresca with friendly staff after coastal walks. After all, it’s been part of their affordable routine for years.
Maria’s Taqueria 2
$ | (503) 354-2072 | WEBSITE

At Maria’s Taqueria 2, you can grab your order to go or settle into the clean, pleasant dining area that feels welcoming and bright. The salsa is everything you’d expect from a great taqueria: fresh and packed with flavor, though be warned about the extremely hot version. The food leans authentic with some vegetarian-friendly twists. It includes must-tries like the Polo Ala Diablo, super burrito, cheese enchilada plate, and excellent veggie burrito.
But they also have tacos, chips with pico de Gallo, and their hand-made flour tortillas that are simply excellent.
Tacos La Providencia
$ | (503) 842-6920 | WEBSITE

Tacos La Providencia serves exclusively with their house-made salsas that create a perfect flavor to pair with a creamy rice and beans or veggie quesadilla. It’s a nice place to have a meal. There’s an outdoor area and indoor seating, including tables near fresh flowers, where you can enjoy the coastal air. If you’re looking for a classic burrito, you’ll find it here. Get the Giant Burrito smothered with sauce if you want something hearty.
Though really, you should try their ridiculously fresh enchiladas in their purest form first: with flavorful meats.
Main Street Pizza Co
$ | (503) 842-7277 | WEBSITE

This pizza place is located on Main Street (don’t confuse it with other pizza joints in Tillamook, or the chain restaurants along the highway). Even if there’s a wait, a booth by the salad bar will likely open up before your breadsticks arrive at the table. The pizza here is decent, but Main Street Pizza Co’s appeal comes from the fact that it’s situated in an area that’s somewhat lacking in reliable casual dining spots.
Dutch Bros Coffee
$ | (877) 899-2767 | WEBSITE

This drive-thru coffee spot makes a great Dutch Freeze, as it should. But we like them even more for their dairy-free options and kid-friendly drinks (you can see the convenient kiosk setup they use to keep things moving). The line processes quickly, often in under 15 minutes, and produces a cheerful, efficient experience. Dutch Bros is also a loyalty program hub, which means you’ll have staff who remember your regular order.
But it also has a drive-thru where you can just grab a quick coffee and specials for the road.
Cabin Coffee Company
$ | (503) 815-8400 | WEBSITE

Grabbing the blended Chai from Cabin Coffee Company feels a lot like discovering a secret hideaway in the woods—equal parts comforting and exhilarating. Their coffee is brewed from what must be the Cadillac of coffee makers. It’s then paired with a Sasquatch sandwich that’s become legendary in these parts. Order one and enjoy it with a cinnamon roll while you watch the friendly staff serve up sausage and biscuits with genuine smiles that make you feel right at home.
They also have amazing breakfast goodies and special holiday drink flavors that rotate with the seasons. We wish the drive-thru line moved a bit faster during peak hours, but the free parking with purchase makes it worth the wait.
Nani Papa’a ·Hawaiian Food Truck
$ | (971) 266-9195 | WEBSITE

Nani Papa’a is a Hawaiian food truck in Tillamook that proudly serves what might be the biggest portions on the coast. That’s because they’re piling plates high with tender, flavorful dishes like sweet and spicy pork, teriyaki chicken, and the delicious kanak attack, all at prices that feel like a steal. While it’s a style that lacks restraint, it does make an incredible meal with the right balance. Luckily, Nani Papa’a has friendly, kind staff running the show.
With just a few picnic tables nearby (they’re basically operating from a parking lot spot), there’s no room to linger. So do like the locals do: feast and roll.
