Rikuras Latinas Colombianas Restaurant is home to the best Colombian food in New Jersey – and if that’s not enough for your friend to get off their couch and head to Bogota, it’s a good indication you should cut them out of your life.
Located in a traditional neighborhood spot, this authentic Colombian restaurant is by no means the easiest place to get into (tables fill up quickly on weekends), but the hack is to just head over early, where seats are first come, first serve, and the full menu is available. But no matter when you’re there, don’t even think about skipping the chicharrones.

There is no shortage of Chinese takeout spots in Bogota, but if you’re going to take your Bergen County friends to one, make it Bogota Chinese Restaurant. Located right on Queen Anne Road, you could drive past this unassuming storefront 100 times and write it off as another generic filler spot – but that would be a huge mistake.
Because once you try their food, you’ll find a reliably delicious haven with affordable prices, spare rib tips in black bean sauce we’d put up against any in North Jersey, and quite possibly the most consistently good Chinese food in town, too.
Cozy Tavern

You’re taking your Bogota friends to Cozy Tavern because this neighborhood bar feels like you’re in a classic dive – not hidden amongst trendy gastropubs in North Jersey. Located just off Main Street, this cozy space looks like your grandfather’s basement rec room, and the reasonably priced drinks seem like something meant for regulars, not bar-hoppers on a fancy night out.
But whether it’s the friendly bartender who’s a fantastic conversationalist or the resident dog who greets everyone at the door, this is one of our favorite – and most reliable – hangout spots in the area.

You know the only way you’re going to get your friend to drive from Fort Lee to Bogota is to promise something they can’t get on the other side of the river. Head to Bogota Press Cafe. The cozy coffee spot with its modern industrial vibe opened a few years ago, bringing its incredible Iced Oat Milk Pistachio Latte, fresh breakfast sandwiches, and vegetarian options to an area that needed some drive-worthy coffee. Maybe you’re next, Fort Lee.
Riviera Maya

You’ve heard your friend complain about both generic Mexican chains and overly fancy fusion spots, but you’re taking them to Riviera Maya anyway, because you know this local gem will change their mind.
Tucked away near Bogota, it’d be easy to write this place off as just another neighborhood joint, but Riviera Maya is filled almost entirely with regulars there to enjoy the cozy atmosphere, eat delicious Mexican food, and only notice the slightly higher chip prices when they’re already too busy enjoying the excellent service and tasty dishes.

Your cousin has celiac disease and will only travel to Bogota if there’s a guaranteed gluten-free destination. No problem, you’re taking her to Bradley Bake Shop. The bakery in Bogota is one of our favorite morning stops in North Jersey, complete with a cozy storefront, friendly owners, and a fantastic selection full of all the things you want when you’re avoiding gluten. Start with the coffee cake, add on the banana pudding, and end with our favorite carrot cake in New Jersey.

The one thing locals never want to admit is just how mediocre the bakery options can be in this part of New Jersey. So be sure to prove them wrong by bringing them to Karla Jiménez Cakes & More. The celebrated Bogota bakery has built its reputation on exceptional service and delectable treats, but there’s still something special about visiting the clean, welcoming establishment itself. You can certainly order individual sweets here, but to be honest, we’ve never even considered anything else.
You’re here for the Dominican Cake with Pineapple Jam, which isn’t exactly cheap – it starts at about $45 for a medium cake – but considering the stunning visual presentation and incredible flavor, you won’t hear much complaining from your guests. The vegan cupcakes come highly recommended too, and Karla’s team accommodates special requests with such attention to detail that you’ll be planning your next celebration before the first one even ends.
El Patio

“But there aren’t any good Latino spots in Bogota.” Raise your hand if you’ve heard one of your friends from the next town over say that. Now put your hand down and take them to El Patio. Immediately.
The classic family restaurant in Bogota is still one of the most comforting meals in the entire area – and the kind of place you wander into at 8:30am, order a massive plate of mangu with onions, scrambled eggs, and fried salami, and watch a regular at the next table sip their morir soñando while chatting with the server like they’re old friends.

Morales Pizzeria is by no means a hidden gem, but there’s still something about this pizza joint in Bogota that makes you feel like you’ve discovered a local secret. Morales’ cozy dining room and nostalgic atmosphere make it the perfect neighborhood spot when everyone is craving that classic 1980s-style pizza experience.
The pepperoni on Margarita pizza, fluffy mussels with fresh bread, and giant grandma pies are our usual go-tos, but you really can’t go wrong with anything at this classic pizzeria. Bonus: They have some of the most reasonable prices in town, with most pizzas hovering around $18-$22 and pasta dishes under $15.
Luka’s Italian Cuisine

Bogota, New Jersey might not be the first place you think of for authentic Italian dining, but you could spend all weekend exploring the area’s hidden gems. If you only have time for one restaurant, make it Luka’s Italian Cuisine. This family-run spot is one of the most beloved Italian restaurants in Bergen County, and if you don’t arrive early on Wednesday nights when they host live music, prepare for a crowded dining room, because you’re going to be waiting for a table.
Once seated though, you’re going to be treated to dishes like Veal Luka and Branzino that are so good even your most critical foodie friends will struggle to find something to critique.
Morales Deli, Pizza & Latin Food

All the more reason to bring your friend who only orders from fancy downtown spots—here, the ready-to-eat plates are consistently hot, clean, and delicious, served by staff who are as friendly as they are efficient. At around $12–$18 a plate, it’s a cost-friendly gem where the atmosphere stays welcoming and the service never misses a beat.

With lively Latin music, colorful decorations that transport you straight to the Caribbean, and a warm, inviting atmosphere in every corner, a meal here feels like you’re dining at a bustling San Juan bistro. Their menu of incredible, authentic dishes only adds to that fact.

Perhaps due to its unassuming location in the Bogota neighborhood, 101 Pub is one of the most underappreciated spots in the area. The casual space is spacious and welcoming, they have a great variety of draft beers, and even better daily specials. Their spicy chicken tenders are excellent, but you definitely can’t leave without an order of the potato skins: crispy potato shells loaded with cheese and bacon.

Angelo’s Pizzeria

Tucked away among the 15 Best Restaurants near Bogota, Angelo’s Pizzeria might sound like just another local pizza joint you’ve passed by for years. It’s not. Yes, this cash-only spot can get crowded during peak hours (they’re known for fast pick-up service and tables fill up quickly), but once you’re inside, you’ll be treated to some of the most authentic Jersey pies in the area.
The cozy space feels like a classic neighborhood pizzeria from the 1980s, and if you want to capture the moment, you won’t need your phone – because the garlic knots and extra cheesy pizza speak for themselves. As far as the actual eating goes, you can certainly order something standard, but you should really try their specialty pies instead.
Just name your craving, and the amount you’re willing to spend (most items range from $12 to $25), then spend the rest of your meal enjoying that hometown pride and excellent customer service that makes this a must-try for supporting local businesses.
