Head to these 15 spots when you want to dine in style, no matter the occasion.
Tony’s Pizzeria & Deli Whitesboro
$ | (315) 864-6150 | WEBSITE

Tony’s Pizzeria & Deli Whitesboro sits in a convenient spot near Whitesboro, but it’s not exactly under the radar. This classic pizza joint gets busy around lunchtime, and it’s bustling in the most satisfying way possible. Families and regulars fill the accessible dining area as friendly staff serve generous portions with quick service and reasonable prices.
There’s an entire wing specials menu if you’re in the mood, but we can’t help but find the ranch cup pricing a bit steep (no one here is drowning their food in it). The calzone is our dish of choice, with fresh greens, a savory punch from the filling, and a perfectly baked crust.
Ramon’s Bakery
$ | (315) 768-1462 | WEBSITE

Just beyond the usual chain bakeries and generic coffee shops, Ramon’s Bakery feels like a sugar-filled sanctuary for people who appreciate actual buttercream. This Whitesboro bakery is for those who don’t want to settle for mass-produced pastries, but still crave something comforting and familiar.
The compact display case has a perfect balance of classics and creative specialties, like custom pies with unique flavors—the kind of treat you bring to a family gathering to impress everyone with your ‘I discovered this place’ knowledge of exceptional baked goods. If it’s morning, grab a stool at the counter near the oven—there’s no better place to watch fresh donuts being made while sipping coffee in the neighborhood.
Mariam
$ | (315) 316-0038 | WEBSITE

This is a laid-back family-owned diner in Whitesboro. Yes, you read that correctly. Mariam looks straight out of a 1950s time capsule, with charming diner booths, warm lighting, and a counter where you could picture a friendly server sharing stories. There’s always a good mix of families sharing mezze platters and solo diners enjoying a quiet meal, adding a cozy hum to the small space that never gets too loud. The food is fantastic, too, even if the menu is simple.
The hummus tastes fresh and vibrant with just the right garlic punch, and the beef & lamb shawarma platter is hearty and satisfying with generous portions and hand-cut fries on the side.
69 Steakhouse
$$ | (315) 736-7869 | WEBSITE

Tucked away in Whitesboro, 69 Steakhouse might seem like another predictable steakhouse you’ve grown weary of in recent years. It’s actually quite the opposite. Inside you’ll discover a charming, cozy space filled with comfortable seating, a relaxed atmosphere perfect for groups, and surprisingly solid dishes. We especially appreciate the Haddock Beer Batter Fish Fry, a crispy delight served with excellent tartar sauce, fresh coleslaw, and fluffy rice pilaf.
While some steaks can disappoint with dull knives and certain dishes like chicken riggies might feature fatty chicken with sparse peppers, the friendly staff including August and Jade keep things pleasant. With reasonable prices around $25-40 for mains and vegetarian options like pasta available, it’s a spot where the experience varies but the potential for a good meal remains.
City Cafe
$ | (315) 507-4053 | WEBSITE

Every visit to City Cafe feels like discovering a hidden gem. This polished family-run spot nails the crucial details of an upscale, gluten-free dining experience: gorgeous decor, cute baked goods with amazing textures, and a clean, quiet atmosphere. The thoughtfulness carries over to their food, too, which includes delicious options that are indistinguishable from their gluten-containing counterparts. Either way, you can’t go wrong with anything listed on their menu.
We especially love the crispy chicken sandwich and the vanilla raspberry cupcake. Seating yourself and ordering at the counter keeps things casual, so be sure to arrive early for brunch to secure a table with ease.
Burger King
$ | (315) 736-7998 | WEBSITE

Situated in Whitesboro, this is the local location of the fast-food chain where staff wear crisp uniforms and paper crowns are available for kids. Are the crowns necessary? Probably not, but the classic burgers made with fresh ingredients are satisfying, like the Whopper with flame-grilled beef and crisp lettuce. And don’t let the chain name fool you, this Burger King isn’t just another drive-thru spot.
There’s a clean dining area where you can relax and enjoy the friendly service, even during busy lunch rushes.
Dunkin’
$ | (315) 736-0418 | WEBSITE

Picture a bright, spacious, and cheerful coffee shop scene in a suburban plaza. Friendly locals grab iced lattes and chat about weekend plans. No, you aren’t in a trendy city center or a bustling downtown, you’re at Dunkin’ near Whitesboro. It’s an excellent first stop before a morning commute, or a great afternoon destination for a study session with that blue raspberry jolly rancher flavor and comfortable booth seating. There’s also plenty of parking out front every day of the week.
The Lifted Cup Cafe
$ | (315) 749-4558 | WEBSITE

No one would consider Whitesboro a hub of culinary innovation, but this quiet town is home to our favorite breakfast spot in upstate New York. The Lifted Cup Cafe is the kind of place you walk into for a quick bite before work and end up staying for an hour because the staff is explaining the nuances of their deep dish french toast and whipping together generous portions that make use of anything from fresh salads to hot sandwiches.
Plus, if you need coffee, you can serve yourself at the self-serve bar just how you like it.
Bennu Cafe
$ | (315) 736-2233 | WEBSITE

Bennu Cafe is tucked away in a plaza, but it’s more than a quick lunch spot—the generous portions here practically make two meals out of one. The chicken pastina soup tastes like it was simmered all morning, the ‘jimmi’ sandwich is stacked with tender meat, and the eggplant panini takes inspiration from classic Italian flavors. If it all sounds a little too good to be true, know that the friendly staff realize the small bar area demands fresh, well-made food.
The main dining space is open for walk-ins, but if you plan to linger over those amazing macarons, grab one of the plentiful parking spots out front.
Franco’s Pizza
$ | (315) 736-1446 | WEBSITE

It’s hard to match a pizza spot like Franco’s. Located in the heart of Whitesboro, this no-frills joint is a quick-service destination and a casual neighborhood staple rolled into one. The kitchen does a lot of pre-prepping, which guarantees every order is ready fast. It also eliminates anyone fussing over fancy plating or elaborate presentations for show.
Instead, you’ll find classic but reliably tasty options, most of which cost between $12 and $18, like the excellent thicker-slice cheese pizza or a crispy fish fry. Our move is to order a tomato pie with some wings (get the classic buffalo) and relax at one of the simple tables while friendly chatter from the staff creates a welcoming, low-key volume.
Subway
$ | (315) 736-9458 | WEBSITE

Contrary to the name, Subway isn’t very fast. In fact, this Whitesboro sandwich spot is pretty deliberate, and if you manage to find a clean table near the window, please grab it. Located inside a nice new interior (far away from the occasionally crumb-filled corners), Subway is low-key and the kind of place where the staff actually talk to you as they assemble a turkey sub with fresh veggies and chipotle sauce. Menus change regularly, so don’t expect old favorites to stick around long.
Do expect whatever new subs are being made to be just as good.
Nola’s
$$ | (315) 853-3052 | WEBSITE

With its intimate, warmly lit dining room and the comforting aroma of fresh sourdough bread wafting from the kitchen, Nola’s has a distinctly welcoming and cozy aura to it, and the generous, well-crafted drinks that feel like a treat in themselves only add to the charm.
Each dish on the menu shines with its own character, from the perfectly cooked, juicy burger and crispy fish fry to the gourmet plates built with impressively fresh ingredients, all the way to the standout cider donut bread pudding that tastes like a hug in dessert form. The scene is mostly couples at snug tables or friends celebrating special occasions early in the evening, but the warm, gracious energy from the friendly staff makes everyone feel right at home.
Boulevard Diner
$ | (315) 768-3042 | WEBSITE

Boulevard Diner is one of the best examples of a true American diner. This breakfast-driven gathering place inspired by classic comfort food fills up well before the morning rush and stays busy until it closes around mid-afternoon. And while we love the retro, vinyl booth-filled interior, the spacious parking lot at this Whitesboro spot is undeniably where you want to be (particularly in a pair of comfortable jeans) when digging into corned beef hash and savoring those phenomenal desserts.
This walk-in-only spot thrives on efficiency and hospitality, but that’s exactly why we love it as a fun pit stop to start or end the day.
Joe’s Pizza
$ | (315) 736-1510 | WEBSITE

Take the charm of a classic neighborhood joint and the appeal of a beloved secret, mix them together, and you’ve got Joe’s Pizza. Tucked away near Whitesboro, this local pizza spot is known for its loyal following and features a warm, inviting atmosphere, friendly staff, and affordable prices. The consistent, welcoming vibe aligns perfectly with the tasty pies given a unique twist: classic slices with that awesome sauce, or the specialty upside-down pizza.
We especially love the flavorful sausage pizza, a standout made with that truly awesome sauce and a crunchy, hearty crust.
WuKong Asian Restaurant
$ | (315) 316-0996 | WEBSITE

Whitesboro is a quiet suburb with a welcoming, unpretentious neighborhood feel, perfect for a spot like WuKong Asian Restaurant. Run by a friendly team, this casual Asian eatery has fantastic dumplings, $4 tuna amazing rolls, and clean tables ideal for sitting with your family and enjoying a relaxed meal. But the reason to make a special trip to WuKong is its consistently fresh sushi.
The variety is impressive with options for pescatarians and beautifully presented plates that make every dish feel special. We’ve yet to try something we didn’t enjoy, but we’re still thinking about the perfectly cooked tuna amazing roll in particular. There’s convenient parking available, and everybody appreciates the wheelchair accessibility.
