Mac’s On Main

This neighborhood gem on Main Street serves steaks so perfectly cooked, they require a moment of silence before the first bite. It’s mostly an upscale dining experience, but there are a handful of outdoor seats where you can enjoy filet Oscar and watch the kitchen team prepare sea bass with precision. Not much has changed since the place became a local favorite, including the warm, intimate atmosphere.
Our favorite dish, the fresh and flavorful crab cake appetizer, costs less than $18 and can satisfy as a light meal. We’re guessing the ‘on Main’ part of the name refers to touches like the smooth jazz-rock music. Don’t gloss over the apple galette just because it’s not the main course.
Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille

By Texas steakhouse standards, Perry’s portions are a little restrained. This Lewisville establishment serves smaller cuts, but makes up for that by preparing them with tons of flavor. Instead of quantity, Perry’s satisfies you with perfectly cooked steaks and enough tasty side dishes to give a corn brulee enthusiast joy. They also get creative with menu offerings, but you’re better off sticking to the classics, like their famous pork chop and traditional steak selections.
Bistecca – An Italian Steakhouse

Unlike most of the steakhouses on this list, Bistecca isn’t just another meat-and-potatoes joint. They’re a full Italian steakhouse experience in Lewisville that blends classic steakhouse traditions with Italian culinary flair. But you’re coming here for their incredible steak and lobster tail with Gorgonzola butter. It’s a beautiful combination of perfectly cooked steak, succulent lobster, and rich, creamy Gorgonzola butter.
Plus, it gets an Italian touch with sides like garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. Finishing the entire plate might require some determination, but every bite feels like a celebration in itself.
Old Hickory Steakhouse

Old Hickory Steakhouse is Lewisville’s carnivorous cathedral that left the chain steakhouse scene on a quest to serve better cuts. And they succeeded in that. They’ve been perfecting their craft for years. You can still feel their commitment to tradition in every perfectly cooked steak. They also still maintain that old-school attention to detail, and haven’t compromised their standards for modern shortcuts.
But they’re consistently excellent, except maybe during peak weekend rushes, from opening until closing. If you see the polished silverware and white tablecloths in the dining room, you’re in for a great meal. The kitchen makes a phenomenal 8oz filet with black truffle butter and likes to pair it with lobster mac & cheese (let them). It’s so divine, they present it with care and serve it on warm plates, like an offering to the steak gods.
Bob’s Steak & Chop House

Lewisville’s steakhouses start feeling interchangeable when you’ve visited as many as we have. But true to its reputation, this established spot is the best elevated steakhouse in town. What separates it from the rest is how perfectly they cook the filet mignons, giving them time to sear up on the grill. We appreciate the large portions, which get careful attention from the charming and accommodating wait staff while they’re still in the kitchen.
The restaurant has been improving over time and employs a GM who makes ensuring guests’ experiences look effortless. It’s often recommended for special occasions due to the fantastic service and atmosphere, though on Saturday nights the place can get loud with noisy groups. Despite this, Bob’s continues to offer a great dining experience with excellent food and attentive service that makes special occasions truly memorable.
Kirby’s Steakhouse

Kirby’s Steakhouse is a Lewisville institution, even if it doesn’t quite serve the best steak in Texas. They used to be, but these aren’t the same cuts we grew up eating. The restaurant is so popular these days, they’re more focused on volume than perfection. But the steaks are still the thickest and cooked with the most care, which is saying a lot because there are some impressively large portions on this guide.
Kirby’s has been around for over 20 years, with many loyal customers returning for special occasions. We’re focusing on the main dining room, where the clinking of silverware and murmur of satisfied conversations never stops. A lot of people come for celebrations, but they have plenty of comfortable booths if you want a quiet dinner.
Dino’s Steak and Claw House

We come to this hidden gem in Grapevine for their filet. It’s cooked to perfection with a seared crust that gives way to tender, juicy meat that melts in your mouth. For an extra $8, we like ours with the lobster bisque, which is so rich and creamy it feels close to heaven. The service comes with a warm welcome, so if you’re celebrating an anniversary or just looking for a cozy lounge spot, this is a great place to unwind before you start counting the stars on the way home.
Del Frisco’s Grille

If deciding between steak or crab on your plate is a dilemma you often face, this place’s cheeseburger spring rolls are here to ease your stress. Del Frisco’s Grille wraps an even mixture of juicy beef and melted cheese with crisp lettuce and tomato in a fried spring roll wrapper. The Lewisville steakhouse also makes a fantastic Old Fashioned cocktail that’ll please defenders of classic drinks.

What sets this Prairie House apart from the rest is: Payton—and those brisket burnt ends. They’re the best of their kind in Lewisville. The flavor is tangled between every bit of tender meat. Payton is also really proud of the cole slaw, so make sure you get that with some fried onion strings. At the table, right next to the usual salt, pepper, and ranch, they also have Ranch Water—which you should definitely order, too.
Payton is a force that runs around the dining room refilling drinks and hands you extra napkins with your meal while chatting up regulars. It’s for wiping up the sauce that drips from these generous plates.
Outback Steakhouse

The steaks at Outback Steakhouse come in two main cuts: the ribeye (juicy and flavorful) and the Alice Springs Chicken (a popular alternative). Their ribeye is cooked to a perfect medium-rare and if you order it with the Bloomin’ Onion starter, you’ll get that classic Outback experience. The appetizer to prioritize is the Aussie cheese fries. The melted cheese and crispy fries combine wonderfully to become the highlight of your evening out.
The dining room has booths where you can relax, and there’s a bar area for watching games. Otherwise, takeout is a solid choice since the free dark bread holds up quite well.

They give you that feeling you’ll be back for the blueberry crumble cake after your first visit—a dessert you will order faster than you think, thanks to the quality and warmth of this spot.
1845 Taste Texas feels like the kind of place you’d find in a classic Texas ranch. Until you realize their salmon melts in your mouth, and then you remember you’re in Lewisville.
Saltgrass Steak House

Saltgrass Steak House has steaks—so many that you should probably decide before you arrive, lest you hold up the line of hungry Irving regulars who come every evening for dinner. Most of the menu is devoted to perfectly cooked cuts like the Pat’s ribeye that do a great job of showcasing rich, savory flavors. The soundtrack here is a consistent hum of satisfied conversation.
