With its consistently fresh and delectable sushi, hakama, and entrees, there’s something here for everyone. We’re very into their nigiri options starting at $3.99 for two pieces, and if you’re looking for a full meal, their house salad, miso soup, and two premium rolls for $44 is the one to go for.

A beloved udon and sushi spot in Westminster, Han Nam Udon & Sushi’s generous seafood bowl makes us pause our errands in Garden Grove and immediately crave another visit. That being said, this friendly, no-frills restaurant isn’t quantity over quality—the superb udon noodles have that perfect bouncy texture and the refreshing cold soba noodles are carefully prepared by the hardworking couple who own the place.

If you drive past this unassuming sushi bar in Westminster and don’t spot a steady stream of patrons, then Kihon is either closed, or you’ve just stumbled upon a rare quiet moment. We’ve never visited without seeing the cozy space filled with families and couples, but it’s always worth that bustling atmosphere.
The nigiri and sashimi are prepared with care, and they have standout dishes like the tender smoked octopus and must-try black cod, but we love the quality of the fish, so we like to keep it classic with our go-to order of the chefs’ choice, or the generous portions of sashimi.
San Sushi

San Sushi is like finding a familiar face in the crowd. This Japanese spot is now a local favorite, but no matter when you visit, you’ll get a great meal. It hasn’t got a bunch of fancy fusion rolls to choose from, so we’re fans of their classic sushi instead. The Salmon Avocado roll is like having a bite of pure freshness, with creamy avocado complementing the fish, and the Crunchy Shrimp roll offers that satisfying texture contrast.
The Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice melts in your mouth, and the Yellow Tail Carpaccio is a standout appetizer. While the Tonkatsu Ramen might not be for everyone, the sushi and appetizers are consistently loved. The kind staff provides great recommendations, and the kid-friendly environment makes it a great choice for families. Overall, it’s an excellent option for a quality and affordable Japanese meal, and we highly recommend it for both locals and travelers.

This little spot in Westminster serves freshly made sashimi bowls with classic toppings like avocado and cucumber, as well as a build-your-own option you can’t find everywhere. The premade poke bowls are topped with a generous layer of fish and vegetables drizzled with delicious sauces, and The Good Fish And Noodles does it well. The black garlic ramen is our dish of choice, but the build-your-own sashimi bowl is also a great option.
There’s a clean and friendly ambiance inside, so it’s an ideal spot to spend half an hour while you enjoy fresh seafood.

Taira Sushi&Sake is tucked away in a quiet Garden Grove strip, so settle into the intimate, cozy atmosphere while you wait for your reservation. We prefer the seasonal offerings on the Japanese-owned omakase menu, especially the 12-course option that’s got a thoughtful, delicious twist on traditional sushi. We’d prefer a slightly longer tasting experience, but their laid-back yet refined pacing pairs nicely.

This Westminster spot has sashimi, rolls, and specials including a Magic Dragon roll that we ate more than vegetables at one point in our lives. You can try any fresh offerings, and our go-to (as well as the aforementioned Magic Dragon) is the signature Passion DK dish with fresh draft beer. There are some tables inside, but it’s a little small and cozy, so we’d recommend coming solo or with a small party. Plus they’ve got that family-owned warmth that makes you feel right at home.

We recommend making reservations as it’s pretty popular and busy inside.

This popular sushi spot has got everything in terms of quality, but the reason you should come to @Sushi’s Westminster location is for the Tuna Cracker appetizer. Like a flavor explosion in bite-sized form, a.k.a a seafood lover’s dream come true, the tuna is fresh and goes perfectly well with the crispy cracker base. It’s got big ‘special occasion dinner’ energy, and we’re very into it.
There are some well-designed tables inside where you can enjoy your sushi, and you’ll find regulars filling the seats on most nights.
