When we first mapped Coral Springs’ taco scene, it was a landscape of predictable chains. Now we’re swimming in more authentic, inventive taquerias than skeptical Miami foodies could ever dismiss. Before you dive in, understand we’re judging solely on the tacos—not the full restaurant experience (for that, check our detailed reviews). Now go find your perfect tortilla-wrapped treasure.
Chilacos Tacos
$ | (754) 701-4940 | WEBSITE

At this point, finding a decent taco joint in South Florida is about as common as spotting a palm tree. But Chilacos Tacos is the only Coral Springs spot on par with authentic Mexican taquerias. This casual counter-service operation—run by a friendly team including Camilo and Pedro—makes us want to call our friends in Mexico City to brag. Each taco folds with a distinct freshness. Soft, warm tortillas won’t overwhelm the fillings. The food at this welcoming spot has nothing to hide.
Aside from the occasional elote or guacamole, we don’t even like to add extras—just perfectly grilled steak or tender shrimp with fresh toppings. (What else do you need?) There’s a take-home option for their tortillas so you can enjoy tacos at your place, and great music inside the restaurant where you can dive into your meal right away.
Taco Loco
$ | (954) 933-9008 | WEBSITE

Coral Springs has become home to all sorts of taco styles: Baja, Tex-Mex, Mexico City-inspired street tacos, to name a few. We’ve never had authentic Mexican representation though, until now. Taco Loco began as a hidden gem and now operates out of a storefront space that might seem unassuming at first. There’s even a kitchen in the back that serves up amazing dishes, too. Here, it’s all about the chicken tacos—generous portions, perfectly balanced, and packed with great taste.
There’s a unique freshness to every crunchy bite that blends with rich flavors like the Tacos de Pato a los 3 Chiles and the Award Winner Wet Burrito. If it’s your first time, get the chicken tacos, a must-try for taco purists with nothing but quality ingredients and perfect balance. Our current favorite is the steak sopes, a hearty dish with savory steak, fresh toppings, and a generous portion that won’t break the bank at around $12.
The vibe is very chill, ideal for a casual night out or a quick lunch, with friendly staff and quick service that makes everything feel effortless. Don’t forget to try one of their Jarritos flavors—the variety is a real plus. Overall, Taco Loco offers that authentic Mexican experience we’ve been missing, with tasty food, fast service, and a welcoming atmosphere that keeps us coming back.
Tulum Tacos Restaurant
$ | (954) 368-7506 | WEBSITE

It’s been a while since we said ‘authentic Mexican’ and ‘Coral Springs’ in the same sentence, but here we are. Tulum Tacos is a cozy restaurant that prepares homemade Mexican dishes with fresh, nearly sizzling tortillas and rich spices. The aromatic and flavorful salsa—made from scratch—shines in the birria tacos, where it’s generously drizzled over tender meat.
Tulum’s menu tends to stay within traditional boundaries, but they don’t sacrifice excitement: the steak gorditas have a heartier-than-usual texture with freshly cooked steak and warm masa that warm your soul.
Pinkys Tacos
$ | (954) 440-9282 | WEBSITE

Pinkys Tacos in Coral Springs has a compact menu that covers tacos, birria, ramen, and, our favorite section, the elote. These street corn creations are Mexican street food’s elevated cousin and have a distinct creamy and charred texture. They’re messy enough to require a handful of napkins but balanced enough to hold up to tangy lime crema, crumbled cotija cheese clinging to sweet kernels, and sprinkles of chili powder.
We have a hard time deciding which of Pinkys’ half-dozen or so tacos is our true favorite because we switch it up each time and never leave with next morning’s leftovers.
La Union Bakery #2
$ | (954) 324-8535 | WEBSITE

This cozy Mexican bakery in Coral Springs really has it all—tacos, tortas, quesadillas, and fruit waters—but while enjoying the comfortable atmosphere, make sure you prioritize the birria tacos. They’re authentic Mexican tacos with generous amounts of tender stewed beef and rich consommé for dipping, plus crisp vegetables tucked inside.
They offer a variety of other dishes, but if you want the carne asada tacos piping hot for takeout, call ahead—they’re made fresh to order with that signature burst of flavor.
JARDIN KITCHEN
$ | (954) 602-0062 | WEBSITE

At Jardin Kitchen in Coral Springs, you’ll find dishes that sound like humble comfort food, but taste remarkably vibrant in execution. Alongside Haitian classics like griot and chicken, this local favorite offers plates that weave Caribbean soul into every satisfying bite. The Haitian mac and cheese in particular is a revelation, baked with creamy cheese, tender pasta, and just enough spice to create a rich-savory warmth.
Pair any meal with their passion fruit juice, which you can (and should) order by the glass for $3. There are a handful of tables in the dining area, but many customers take their orders home or to a nearby park, where they can spread out and appreciate how one generous portion can easily feed a small crowd.
Tijuana Flats
$ | (954) 749-3420 | WEBSITE

And the award for Best Tacos In The Most Unassuming Strip Mall goes to… Tijuana Flats. The name of this Coral Springs spot sounds like a spring break destination you vaguely remember, but trust us on this one. The Mexican-style tacos at this casual, order-at-the-counter restaurant rival the best in South Florida.
The perfectly seasoned fillings are fresh and vibrant, and beautifully complement the warm, soft tortillas with various options like grilled chicken, seasoned beef, and our hands-down favorite, the vegetarian black bean blend that Omar expertly recommended. There’s also a consistently clean dining area that never feels chaotic and is the ideal post-errand lunch spot, especially with the $20 Saturday deal for two drinks, two entrees, and one appetizer that makes it a genuine steal.
Arun’s Indian Kitchen / Taco Masala – Sunrise
$ | (954) 616-5333 | WEBSITE

If you have any questions about what eating at Arun’s is like, refer to the wonderful aroma that fills the air upon entering. The unique blend of Indian and Tex-Mex flavors at this clean, spacious restaurant with bright ambiance is a little bit traditional, a little bit fusion, and totally delicious. We’re drawn to the Chicken Makhani with its large portions and well-balanced spice levels, but never overlook the “Feast” menu that allows you to choose two mains with rice and naan.
Arun’s is known for amazing delivery service with generous portions that often leave leftovers, so order soon to experience the magic.
Taqueria Charrito Loko
$ | (754) 307-3859 | WEBSITE

Coral Springs’ most celebrated taqueria knows how to make the freshest tortillas imaginable without compromising any of that great, corn-forward flavor. Located in a cozy corner spot, the tacos at Charrito Loko come out sizzling from the grill with a sturdy base, but soft enough to fold your tortilla without it tearing like paper.
Each one is a vehicle for smart filling combos, like smoky al pastor and juicy carne asada on the campechanos, or crispy chilaquiles and tender huaraches chicken on the specialty plates. Taqueria Charrito Loko can be a busy destination, especially if you want a table after 6pm, but walk-ins are welcome if you don’t mind a short wait.
Or avoid the hassle by trying their refreshing agua fresca in Jamaica and tamarindo flavors on your lunch break, which pairs perfectly with their simple yet satisfying menu.
Talkin’ Tacos Coral Springs
$ | (954) 621-1174 | WEBSITE

There’s a reason this taco spot in Coral Springs has been drawing crowds since it opened: their fresh, flavorful Southwest chicken tacos are spot on. If it’s your first visit, go for the Barria tacos (skip the extra sauce, it throws the whole thing off) because they’re the basis for all other tacos at Talkin’ Tacos. That said, our favorite is the Caribbean tacos—no lettuce, double chicken, pineapple, and cilantro.
It’s tangy, spice-rubbed greatness that almost makes you forget how mediocre the non-taco dishes are here.
The Flava Zone By Chef Bigggz
$$ | (954) 939-0333 | WEBSITE

The seasoning on Chef Bigggz’s salmon bites is perfectly balanced and expertly cooked, with flavors that are consistently excellent across every dish. Begin your meal at this Palm Beach County-adjacent spot with the Lemon Pepper Jumbo Shrimp for a showcase of Chef Bigggz’s expertise at its freshest, then move on to much heartier, flavorful creations like the Shrimp Pasta with Lobster and Broccoli, loaded with tender seafood and crisp vegetables.
These are precisely prepared plates: the BBQ wings and fries are the perfect combination of smoky and satisfying.
Talkin’ Tacos Fort Lauderdale
$ | (954) 419-4218 | WEBSITE

The taco spot that’s been making waves in Coral Springs now has a Fort Lauderdale location, but the flavors at Talkin’ Tacos’ order-at-kiosk shop are every bit as bold as when we first tried them.
You could debate about whether these loaded creations are traditional street-style, modern fusion, or just really good tacos, but we’d say they’re a mix of all three: heavy on the perfectly seasoned meats, piled with fresh toppings, and sporting just the right amount of spice that makes each bite a flavor explosion. Tacos rotate frequently—they’re filled with everything from birria to creative vegetarian options—but the birria tacos never let us down.
Papamigos Coconut Creek
$ | (954) 422-9464 | WEBSITE

Papamigos Coconut Creek has one location in Coral Springs, and you’ll find the same generous portions of delicious food at this spot. We like Coconut Creek for the simple fact it’s a small location decked out with a chill atmosphere, great for happy hour and a relaxed night. (If the vibe didn’t give it away, this place is perfect for sharing everything). Most importantly, it’s here in Coconut Creek where you can sit and eat their fantastic, pile-high nachos immediately.
Our top pick is the steak and shrimp quesadilla, a heavenly experience perfectly seasoned and not too greasy, while the birria tacos are stuffed with plenty of meat and so much flavor. The birria quesadilla and carne asada loaded fries are AMAZING, and the Tuna and Crab Nachos stand out for their freshness.
The service is excellent with friendly and attentive staff, and while the food is a bit pricey—think around $15-25 for most dishes—the large portions and unique items like the birria taquitos and Papalina cocktail make it worth it. This is the place to try different dishes, especially for those who are hungry!
Tulio’s Tacos and Tequila Bar
$$ | (954) 530-5523 | WEBSITE

Tulio’s Tacos and Tequila Bar offers amazing food and drinks with excellent service in Coral Springs, but it can honestly be hit or miss depending on your server. So use Tulio’s for what it does best: family nights out or large celebrations. And if you’re looking for upbeat, inviting atmosphere with creative drinks, there probably isn’t a better option when it comes to unfussy, high-quality Mexican dining.
At around $14 for a plate of tacos, these babies are delicious and could easily satisfy two or three people depending on appetite levels. The lemon ricotta pancakes are easily the best option on the menu.
Tacos Wey561, Food Truck
$ | (561) 317-3352 | WEBSITE

Sometimes we crave authentic, flavorful Mexican tacos and we want them fresh. This is what Tacos Wey561 does best. The unassuming food truck at Yamata and 441 serves a focused menu of generously portioned specialties, including the incredibly moist and tender birria tacos with perfectly chopped onions and fresh cilantro, and the shrimp tacos, which balance savory protein with delicious sauces but are never too heavy.
Grabbing your order here usually means watching the staff work quickly as your food comes together in a matter of minutes, making it easy to be back on the road with a satisfying meal in well under an hour.
Tacos El Papi
$ | (954) 440-0258 | WEBSITE

The fillings in Tacos El Papi’s soft, warm tortillas are far more authentic than your typical taco truck fare, like tender lengua and “exotic cuts” including cabeza and al pastor. (Horchata not included.) But the off-menu birria tacos are the real reason you should drive across Coral Springs to this local spot. Don’t let the $15 price scare you away—this accounts for three generously stuffed, consommé-dipped treasures.
The deeply flavorful meat has a rich, complex texture, and one order can easily satisfy two people. No substitutions are accepted because no substitutions are needed.
Taqueria El Paisa
$ | (754) 223-3905 | WEBSITE

The tacos at Taqueria El Paisa can be difficult to secure. The vibrant Mexican spot in Coral Springs is first-come-first-served and crowds gather quickly on Taco Tuesdays. But your payoff is authentic, simply-served tacos that compete with the finest in South Florida. The taco varieties rotate regularly, but if you spot the carne asada, order it. The grilled steak taco is topped with cilantro and onions and accompanied by house-made salsas that balance the flavors perfectly.
The dining room tends to be less hectic on Wednesdays and Thursdays, which means you might catch a glimpse of tortilla-making action from the open kitchen while enjoying your 2-for-1 margarita.
Antojitos Esmeralda
$ | (754) 229-6385 | WEBSITE

There’s been a serious proliferation of Mexican restaurants in Coral Springs since 2020. But as places continue to open, it’s becoming more difficult to know which ones are doing the cuisine justice and which ones are just cashing in on the trend. Antojitos Esmeralda falls into the first camp. The family-run spot now resides in a cozy space with a loyal customer base (us included).
Their crispy, perfectly grilled carne asada tacos have authentic flavors that burst with each bite, while the fresh guacamole complements the standout steak tostadas that are generously portioned. Be sure to try whatever the daily special is, too.
BOHEMIAN LATIN GRILL
$ | (954) 530-8102 | WEBSITE

Given that Bohemian Latin Grill has become a local favorite, its focus on authentic Mexican flavors makes sense. But while many places settle for ordinary tortillas, this casual spot in Coral Springs clearly doesn’t. The perfectly toasted flour tortillas for their tacos echo from one table to the next, and a satisfying warmth comes through in each bite. Atop that delicious foundation sits balanced layers of fresh ingredients, but it’s the generous fillings where things really take off.
Prioritize the basic-but-perfect shrimp tacos with their plump, seasoned shrimp, or the Birria tacos are loaded with tender meat, melted cheese, and rich consommé for dipping.
