Urban Rolls, a modern Vietnamese spot in Roseville, does two things well: serve some of the best spring rolls in town, then use them to introduce excellent dishes like pho, banh mi, and popcorn chicken, all generously portioned and reasonably priced. The egg rolls here are good, too, but not all are created equal. The Crispy Pork Banh Mi is best, just make sure to get it with the sweet and sour sauce over the peanut sauce.

Even before we discovered it in Roseville, Urban Rolls was already one of our favorite Vietnamese spots in the area and now, conveniently, there’s a location with plentiful parking and clean seating. It’s the most welcoming one so far, with quick service and a peaceful atmosphere (in case the clean seating wasn’t enough comfort). Surprisingly good dishes like crispy pork and chicken noodle soup get the job done. There’s also excellent pho with rich broth if you don’t care about the rolls.

The moment you walk into Pho Vung Tau Bay, you’ll feel a little better. Maybe it’s because of the unique tile ceiling or the fact that you can feel the minimalist setting creating a clean, uncluttered space. Either way, it’s a pleasant place, and it’s great for when you want to eat an assortment of authentic Vietnamese dishes before or after a big event.
This place is also standard seating, so it’s pretty casual, and it doesn’t get too busy at night due to it being mostly known as a lunch spot with generous portions at reasonable prices.

The traditional dishes come generously portioned, but aren’t always as complex as they sound—we prefer their standout classics, like the Vegetable Clay Pot with fresh, crisp vegetables and Vermicelli Bowl with perfectly grilled pork and shrimp.
Oh, and definitely make this your go-to for a reliable weeknight dinner, because the service is excellent (expect extremely kind, helpful staff who accommodate quickly).
